‍The Command and General Staff College Foundation, Inc. (CGSCF) announces the appointment of Brian Weaver, Founder and CEO of Torch.AI, as a new member of the Board of Trustees. With a distinguished career dedicated to advancing technology solutions in defense and national security, Weaver brings invaluable expertise in fostering connections and providing strategic direction across industry, academia, government, and the College. His insights will enhance the CGSCF’s mission and help strengthen the relationship between the military and the private sector.

The CGSC Foundation supports development of leaders of character and competence at the U.S. Army through various initiatives in scholarship, outreach, and support for soldiers and their families. Its efforts enrich Army University's academic framework, strengthen relationships between the military and private sector, enhance the institution’s research activities, promote leadership development, encourage faculty and student body excellence, and support an alumni network.

To achieve its mission, the CGSCF implements a range of programs designed to enhance the academic experience of students and their families while connecting the American public with the military. This includes sponsoring awards for student and faculty excellence and supporting significant initiatives like the Col. Arthur D. Simons Center for Interagency Cooperation. CGSCF is guided by an active Board of Trustees composed of business executives, community leaders, and retired military personnel.

With a proven track record of leadership and innovation, Weaver is well-positioned to work alongside the Foundation and his fellow Trustees to help bring the organization to new heights.

Weaver has a deep-rooted personal connection to the military. As the son of a US Army aviator and intelligence officer and grandson of a US Navy surveillance blimp pilot, Weaver was born in Germany and grew up around military bases. This upbringing led to a lifelong calling to support our nation’s military. As founder, CEO, and Chairman of Torch.AI, he has led the Kansas City based artificial intelligence (AI) research and development organization to serve as a key player supporting a wide array of national defense capabilities. Today, Torch.AI’s solutions leverage complex AI systems to understand the context and meaning of data in large scale systems to support warfighters and national security initiatives.

Reflecting on his new role, Weaver expressed his enthusiasm for working collaboratively to drive innovation and advance national security objectives. “It is a tremendous honor to join the CGSCF board and work alongside highly talented and influential professionals in the defense and national security arena. The world is evolving at a rapid pace and we live an complex geopolitical landscape. Now more than ever, we must challenge ourselves to come together and carve a path for which future generations will rely upon.”
