Last week, Torch.AI welcomed U.S. Congressman Ron Estes, Republican representative of Kansas's 4th Congressional District, to our Leawood, Kansas headquarters.
A Kansas native who previously served as Kansas State Treasurer, Representative Estes represents a district with deep roots in aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing. His visit was an opportunity to show a member of Congress how a Kansas company is building technology for some of the nation's hardest national security problems.
Congressman Estes joined the Torch.AI team to discuss Torch.AI's journey toward becoming a leading U.S. defense-focused AI company, the future of artificial intelligence across government, and Torch.AI's impact on the local Kansas City economy.
The visit reflected a principle at the center of Torch.AI's mission: the most sensitive defense and intelligence missions deserve AI that the government owns and can fully inspect, not opaque commercial systems that keep their reasoning hidden. Torch.AI builds deterministic, auditable AI so that operators and oversight bodies alike can trace how every answer was produced.
That work is happening in the Midwest by design. From its Leawood headquarters, Torch.AI is building a defense-AI engineering base in the Kansas City region, growing local technical talent and keeping advanced national security work rooted in the communities that representatives like Congressman Estes serve.
